The day started with a guided walk along the Manzanares River and a presentation held by experts for cultural heritage, environment, geography and archaeology. We walked about 16 km following the Manzanares. The aim of the CLD was to raise awareness for the values of the cultural and natural heritage of Colmenar Viejo and the importance of protecting them. The walk went along a beautiful route including surprises for the people from the village and surrounding areas, as many of them are were not aware of the treasures the landscape of Colmenar Viejo hides. The region is declared as the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park and has a high concentration of heritage elements, some of them restored and some of them abandoned.
